Living City Farms CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)

We are pleased to announce that Living City Farms will have CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares available for the 2023 season.

What is a CSA and why are they important to support local farmers?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA program participants register with the farm of their choice in the spring to receive a “share” of the farm’s produce each week of the growing season. Payment is usually made at the start of the season, which allows the farm to pay for up-front costs of producing food, which are generally much higher in the spring.

By participating in our CSA you make a financial commitment to support Living City Farms in exchange for a box of produce grown on our small-scale, regenerative urban farm in Tallmadge, OH.

Joining the Living City Farms CSA is a great way to support local agriculture, get to know the people who grow your food, and receive a weekly box of delicious, high-quality vegetables and herbs that highlight the bounties of the Ohio landscape.

We pack our CSA Share boxes with quality produce and herbs, hand-selected with care by our farm team. Your box will be accompanied by a weekly newsletter with recipe ideas and regular updates from the farm!

How can I get involved?

Living City Farm’s “Summer Share” CSA will run for 14 weeks from the end of May through the end of August. We also offer a 12 week “Autumn Share” to complete your season! Shares are available in two sizes to meet your individual and family needs. The Summer CSA will begin the week of May 27th and end the week of November 20th.

The Full Share: The Full Share CSA Box is designed for veggie-lovers, home cooks, and those who cook for a family. The Full Share will include an average of 7-10 items per week, though exact quantities and contents will vary with the season.

Pickups will be weekly at Living City Farms or at one of our select pick-up locations throughout the Akron area. The total price of this share is $420 for the 14-week season.

The Partial Share: We’ve catered our Partial Share CSA Box for 1-2 people or families who cook at home less frequently. This box will contain an average of 5-7 items per week, in smaller quantities than the Full Share.

Pickups will be weekly at Living City Farms or one of our designated market locations throughout the Akron area. The total price of this share is $280 for the 14-week season.

If neither of these options work for you or if you are not ready to commit to the full 14-week CSA season, we also offer Single Shares that you can purchase on a weekly basis and have an online store where you can personalize the contents and frequency of your produce orders.
